Michael Jimenez is a 2017 RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Ocala, FL who attends Trinity Catholic HS. Large frame, long-limbed, projectable pitcher's build with strong back, broad shoulders. Measured tempo in high leg lift delivery, maintains solid direction to the plate and drives well with lower half. Extended arm-action works to a higher arm slot, gets solid downhill plane on pitches. Fastball up to 86 mph, shows occasional natural cut, comes out of hand well and was able to keep down in the zone and work to both sides of the plate. Very confident in changeup, will throw in any count, has similar action to fastball and is deceptive. Also flashed feel for sharp breaking ball in the low-70s. Displayed good feel and knowledge of pitching. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List. Very good student.
