Luke Murphy is a 2018 RHP with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Springfield, TN who attends East Robertson HS. Tall and very slender build, projects very well physically. Huge crossfire delivery, very deceptive delivery especially for right handed hitters, difficult delivery to repeat but did so pretty well. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, has arm side run and plenty of heaviness down in the zone. Sweeping slider has good depth, especially at lower velocities. Change up is pretty straight but has some feel for it. Hard pitcher to evaluate due to his unusual mechanics but throws strikes with three solid pitches and projects. Good student, verbal commitment to Vanderbilt.
