Matthew Stamford is a 2018 LHP/ with a 6-3 178 lb. frame from Chatham, NJ who attends Chatham. Large frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Left handed pitcher with a long, loose arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot. Creates good downhill angle with the ability get on top of pitches while working down in the zone. Fastball has good downward angle as well in the upper 70's, topped at 79 mph. Works fastball to both edges well, has to confidence to throw fastballs to inside half under hitters hands. Curveball has 11/7 shape with some spin and depth. Curveball flashed good downer shape when staying on top of offering. Good presence and composure while on the mound. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
