Tyler Shelley is a 2019 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-6 145 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Ponderosa. Compact frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Ran a 7.11 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with aggressive, athletic footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling out front and working through exchange. Released from a three-quarters arm slot with good arm whip, topped at 87 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing quick paced actions while closing to the baseball. Sound glove actions while working through the baseball and released from three-quarters slot with high energy actions. Throws produced stiff on line carry to the bag topping at 90 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a crouched, even stance and toe tap trigger. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Swung with intent to drive the baseball with authority on a naturally leveraged barrel plane through extension. Ball jumped off the barrel well to each gap with solid carry. Also pitched utilizes a long, loose three-quarters arm slot. Fastball had heavy running action through the zone topping at 86 miles per hour. Aggressively attacked and challenged hitters with fastball offering. Curveball had tight spin with solid break in the low 70's. Also flashed a slight that also had tight rotation with slightly sharper tilt to glove side. Very good student. Named to the 2017 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
