Michael Blanco is a 2016 1B/RHP with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Miami Lakes, FL who attends Doral Academy Charter. Extra-large, athletic build with broad shoulders, long limbs, and room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, hands work and picks well in dirt, smooth actions around the base, short arm action with strength across. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a long, fluid arm action. High leg raise and stays tall on back side, shows fluidity to delivery with rhythm, front side opens early. Mixes well, generates run to arm side on fastball that topped 80 mph, maintained velo well. Nice feel for splitter, gets tumble and sink on the pitch with ability to consistently throw for strikes. Right-handed hitter, shows a short path to the ball, moves easy into contact with extension out front. Stays balanced through swing, pull side approach and contact with strength off the barrel.
