Jose Gonzalez is a 2018 1B/OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein HS. Strong athletic build, pretty mature physically. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a pull back load, shifts in well and explodes his strong lower half on time, has big bat speed and strength at contact, ball comes off the barrel hard, aggressive approach at the plate and looks to hit the ball hard, has a chance to be an elite level hitter. 7.13 runner at the PG Junior National Showcase, moves well around the first base bag and has some hands, arm strength will likely keep him at that position but the bat will play there. Good student, verbal commitment to Texas Tech.
