Luke Dawson is a 2015 OF/RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Stamford, CT who attends Westhill. Large, athletic frame with nice present strength on his build that plays in his actions. Very good athlete, ran a 684 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball with nice fielding actions, uses body to gain momentum, front side opens early on throws, shows a strong and accurate arm with a full arm action. Also pitched, throws from an over the top arm slot with a long arm action in the back. Stays closed through delivery and pounded the strike zone with a clean and athletic delivery. Shows interesting arm strength on the mound, topping out at 85 mph with his fastball, missing bats with the pitch. Has a nice feel for a tight 12-6 curveball with depth and threw it for strikes. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and a high hand set. Line drive approach with an aggressive barrel, gets to front side early at times, shows nice bat speed and a feel to hit to all fields. Named to Northeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
