Maverick Buffo is a 2014 RHP/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Salem, UT who attends Spanish Fork HS. Athletic build, good present strength. Over the top arm slot, works downhill, compact arm action in back hides the ball well. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, fastball mostly straight, tends to pitch up in zone with fastball. Curveball best pitch, has confidence in it and throws for strikes, can pitch backwards with curveball, hard spin with big downer shape, sometimes true 12/6 shape, developing change up. Key will be working fastball down in zone consistently and developing movement. Good student, verbal commitment to Brigham Young.
