Beau Didier is a 2008 SS/3B/2B with a 6'2'', 188 lb. frame from Federal Way, WA who attends Bellarmine Prep. He has a lean projectable build with athletic actions. Didier has come on nicely over the last year on both sides of the ball. He has very good feel for playing defense, with quick instinctive reads on balls and fluid, quick reactions. There will be plenty of debate, as there often is, on the shortstop vs. third base progression as Didier gets stronger but his actions and feel for defense might keep him in the middle of the field for a while. Offensively, Didier hits from a pre-load approach with very good balance and a smooth, low effort line drive type of swing. His hitting fundamentals are oustanding and he has a mature ability to hit the ball hard to all fields. He doesn't have much present power in his swing and lean body but the potential is there. Didier has some serious big league bloodlines and his father and grandfather have been in Major League baseball in a player/coach or scouting role for at least the past 50+ years at least. It's not surprising that Didier knows how to play and plays easily. He is a very good student who should keep improving on the baseball field.
