Nicholas Navarro is a 2007 C/1B with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines FL, who attends Flanagan HS. He has done a very good job firming up his body in the last 6 months or so and looks strong and quick and in great shape. In fact, Navarro's who game looks like it's in great shape. Defensively he looked much quicker and faster. His pop times have gone from the 2.10 area to a best of 1.88 and he had no wasted motion on his throws at all and they were very accurate. Navarro won't win any races running in a straight line but he shifts and moves quickly and does a solid job receiving. His strength has always been his bat and that was consistent at the event. Navarro is a legit switch hitter with good bat speed from both sides. He's shorter and quicker from the right side, with more lift and power potential from the left side. He has balance and leverage on contact from both sides and has been a consistent run producer with wood in numerous events over the past two years. Navarro is obviously working hard to improve his game and the results are showing. Keep a close eye on him. Navarro is a good student who has signed with Samford.
