2004 Underclass National Showcase
Jonathan King -- King is a live bodied athlete with a medium build and good baseball skills. He has a short, no load approach at the plate and generates good bat speed with a short, line drive swing. King went 3-6 against live pitching and hit the ball well every time up. He’s a MLB average or better runner underway (6.96 on a very soft track) and gets down to first base in 4.35. King has good arm strength from centerfield but we’re thinking that he profiles as an infielder in the future. He’s the kind of player with skills, hustle and solid tools that can take a big step forward with more overall body strength. King is also a very good student. Someone to watch!
