16u BCS Scout Notes: Days 3-4

James Nesta (2024, Huntersville, N.C.) took the mound for South Charlotte Panthers 2023 and showcased a good pitch arsenal. The 6-foot-5 right hander uses his big frame well and comes from an over the top slot, sitting in his hinge well and being in a good powerful position at foot strike. His fastball sat 88-90 mph most of the day and flashed 91 mph a handful of times, the heater plays well up in the zone and is hard to pick up out of the hand. Nesta’s slider was firm as well in the upper-70s and pairs well off his fastball, got a few swings in the dirt with it, but mostly dominated with the fastball. Ended the day going 4 1/3 innings, currently uncommitted.
