Johnny King (2024, Naples, Fla.) showed some intriguing upside on the hill over his short outing. The southpaw struck out four over 1 1/3 innings. He works from an athletic, loose, and low effort delivery. The fastball worked in the 79-81 range with angle from a lower three-quarter slot. His go-to offering was his curveball that he went to often. He snapped the breaker off hard with healthy 11-5 shape, showing the makings of a future out-pitch. Given the projection in his frame and athleticism, King has plenty more in the tank.

Jalen Foxx (2025, Sanford, Fla.) had an impressive outing on the mound Friday night for Gulf Coast Monarch 16U. He worked mostly in the 81-83 range with the fastball and topped out at 85 with life. He got plenty of swing-and-miss on the pitch and showed feel to locate it arm side. Foxx also mixed in an occasional breaking ball with sweeping break. The pitch flashed bite and lived in the 66-70 range. The uncommitted left-hander is a really good athlete and uses a nice tempo to his delivery with all parts working together well. He finished with 1 2/3 innings while punching out five and allowing no earned runs. This is a good jump for Foxx and he possesses all the ingredients to continue to make more in the near future.
