14U

Gennaro Brito (2025, Tucson, Ariz.) looked like he belonged in the 16U division. The left-hander stood out for his advanced mechanics, good velocity, and pitchability. The operation down the mound was extremely mature for his age. He maintained body control throughout and repeated the delivery very well. The short, quick arm slot hides the ball extremely well. It allowed an already impressive repertoire to play even higher. The fastball sat 80-82 mph with outstanding control. He threw it to both sides of the plate with relative ease. He used a changeup to keep hitters off balance. The offering sat in the mid-70s with quality fading action. He maintained his arm speed well creating some deception with the pitch. Brito generated plenty of whiffs throughout the outing. When batters did make contact it was often weak ground balls. Overall, it was an impressive outing that showed a lot of advanced skills.

Fabian Gomez (2025, Concord, Calif.) showed off one of the cleaner swings you will see in the 14U age group. Not only does the swing stand out, the approach is advanced for the age as well. He is a patient hitter that is willing to wait for his pitch before unloading on it. It is a smooth, easy swing that features above-average bat speed. He remains balanced throughout the stroke with the ability to get to pitches in different locations. His feel for the barrel leads to frequently hard hit balls. The natural loft allows him to hit the ball hard in the air with authority. There is some power currently but the projectability is there for Gomez to become a middle-of-the-order power bat.
