MN Icemen 17U Krupke got back on track Sunday morning, taking down Illinois Premier 2022 Gimbel 2-0 in the first round of the Silver Playoffs. The Icemen secured their second win of the tournament on the back of a complete game shutout performance by starting pitcher Owen Neros (2022, St. Michael, Minn.). After some early command issues, Neros buckled down and threw five innings of no-hit ball, giving up his lone hit to the leadoff batter in the sixth inning. The curveball proved to be a nice change of pace for him, and it was very effective as he started to use it more heavily in the last three innings. Neros has an athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound build with plenty of length to the frame, and his fastball movement and deceptive delivery could be very effective with added velocity.
