Coleman Mayfield (2024, Elk City, Okla.) was lights-out in his performance for USA Prime in the quarterfinals of the 15U National Elite Championships. The Oklahoma State commit gave Coach Holliday and his staff a lot to be hopeful for with some of the things he was doing, not only with his fastball but his overall pitch ability. He was sequencing the fastball and breaking ball well off of one another using each pitch to set up the next. The long, lean left-hander came to a close as he wrapped up a six-inning complete game shutout with eight punchouts to just one walk. The body and arm speed still project for more to come as his feel for pitching looks to be already advanced.
