13u, 14u BCS Championship Scout Notes: Day 1 & 2 | Day 3 & 4

Aiden Arnett (2026, Stoughton, Wis.) certainly made his presence felt Tuesday morning in the Burn Atlantic’s 13U Navy club, going a perfect 4-for-4 on the day helping propel his club to the next round of the 13u playoffs. Athletically built at 5-foot-10, 150 pounds, Arnett ran a 6.85 recently at the 13u East Showcase where he put a variety of tools on display, the speed of which continued to show as it more than once put pressure on the infield, beating out a couple of ground balls for singles. It was more of the same on Wednesday for Arnett as he continually showed a handle for the barrel and proved to make things happen on the bases. Following his big Tuesday performance, Arnett again singled and showcased the ability to recognize spin and adjust mid-swing, lining the ball into left field helping to raise his batting average to .560 on the tournament while scoring 7 runs and plating 8 of his own.

Listed as a primary shortstop per his Perfect Game profile, Arnett patrolled right field for the Burn and thrived at the position in my looks as he showed off his athleticism in a couple different instances. After moving out to right on Tuesday he wasted little time in making a highlight reel catch, fully extending to make the grab, showing excellent closing speed following a quick first step. His speed was once again on display in the playoffs Wednesday morning, covering a huge amount of ground into shallow right field, making a catch on a ball that looked destined for the grass off the barrel.

Brayden Harris (2026, Orange Park, Fla.) toed the rubber for the Burn throughout the tournament, logging 11 innings in which he struck out 13, but it was his 5-inning performance against the loaded Texas Canes Elite in the semifinals that stood out the most. Strongly built at 6-foot, 180 pounds, Harris showed some of the better velocity on the day, running his fastball up to 83 mph early on before settling into the 79-81 mph throughout the outing which he did with ease. He works from an over-the-top slot, showing arm quickness through the backside while generating some downhill angle and short sinking life on the pitch. More than once Harris showed the ability to get in on the hands of left-handed hitters and the velocity he showed came with relative ease. Though the fastball proved to be a quality offering, Harris mixed both a 12-6 shaped curveball in the upper-60s and flashed a 72 mph changeup to keep hitters honest and on their toes in the box. Along with what he brings to the mound, Harris showed well in the middle of the lineup for the Burn as well, turning on a breaking ball Wednesday morning for a well struck double to left field, staying rather direct to the ball while showing strength in his hands.
